The 4th Annual Winter Haven Hospital's Golf Invitational Mountain Lake Resort

The 2008 Winter Haven Hospital Invitational, sponsored by Bright House Networks, was on Friday May 9, 2008. Seventeen foursomes played at one of the most prestigious courses in all of Central Florida, Mountain Lake. The golf course is a private top-ranked course designed in 1916 by Seth Raynor. Golfweek has named Mountain Lake the #1 Classic Residential Golf Course in the U.S. for the past four years in a row!
Guests enjoyed a beautiful day that started with an exquisite lunch spread served in the Colony House. This welcoming focal point of Mountain Lake is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. After the lunch, the national anthem was sung and then teams rode off to their shot gun start. At the 11th hole, golfers had the opportunity to win a car from Huston Motors with a hole in one!
At the end of the tournament, teams met back in the Colony House for a celebration of the day and announcement of the winning teams. During the fun filled presentation, guests were treated to crab legs, lamb chops, shrimp, crab cakes and more. The winning teams received 32" HD TV's and Digital video recorders.
The tournament was a great success and everyone is already looking forward to next year. Congratulations to all of our teams who participated in the 4th annual Winter Haven Hospital Annual Golf Invitational.
